Kraun Electric was founded in 1996 — the name a combination of its founders, Krause and Braun. The company started with four employees focused on electrical construction work across the Niagara Region. From the beginning, the focus was on doing the work right, building strong client relationships, and growing deliberately.
Over the next three decades, Kraun expanded its scope, its team, and its geographic reach. Each step was driven by the same principle: serve our customers better than anyone else in the market.

Founded with four employees, Kraun began delivering electrical construction work across the Niagara Region. The company name combines the names of its founders, Krause and Braun.
Commercial service division launched
Kraun expands beyond construction to offer commercial electrical service — building a dedicated service team to support industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities across Niagara & Hamilton.
2018
New leadership partnership
A new leadership partnership is formed between Kelly Braun and Aaron Jones, who joined Kraun as a labourer in 2003 and worked his way up through the organization. The company sharpens its focus on ICI growth across both service and project work.
Where we are today
A $35M+ organization with the agility to match.
Today, Kraun operates two full-service offices — St. Catharines and Hamilton — with dedicated teams for both service and construction. We have 70+ licensed electricians, a fleet of 10 service vans across Niagara and Hamilton, and the project infrastructure to deliver ICI construction work from Niagara to Kitchener/Waterloo.
