A health and safety program built in-house and maintained daily

At Kraun, health and safety is a program we’ve built from the ground up, maintained by a dedicated specialist and embedded in how every member of our team works.

Dedicated safety leadership — on staff, not on call.

Most electrical contractors treat safety as a part-time responsibility. Kraun has a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist on staff who writes and maintains our Health & Safety Manual, develops our custom safety talks, manages our digital safety system, and oversees onboarding for every new hire. Safety at Kraun is a staffed function with dedicated accountability.

What our safety program looks like in practice.

Written and maintained in-house — tailored to Kraun’s specific work activities, systems, and processes, with a plain-language Employee Handbook as a quick-reference companion.

Written in-house and delivered weekly by Site Supervisors — not generic toolbox talks, but training built around Kraun’s actual policies and the real situations our crews encounter.

Site Supervisors complete a JHA every morning to identify and address site-specific hazards before work begins — making sure every crew has thought through what they’re walking into.

Team-specific ERPs for Construction, ICI Service, and Office teams — with construction site plans made site-specific by adding project emergency contacts and on-site supply information.

All safety forms, documentation, and resources are managed digitally — accessible from desktop or mobile, from anywhere, at any time.

Every new hire receives a thorough safety onboarding package before their first day in the field — covering key policies, PPE, and an online training program on legislated requirements.

Safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves are mandatory for all construction crew members — exceeding OHSA minimums — and every team member receives an annual PPE allowance to purchase the gear they need.

WSIB — Workplace Safety & Insurance Board

Kraun Electric is registered with the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and maintains good standing. WSIB clearance certificates are available upon request for all active projects.
