The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre is a cultural complex comprising four state-of-the-art performance venues, including the 782-seat Partridge Concert Hall, 304-seat Cairns Recital Hall, 210-seat Robertson Theatre, and 199-seat The Film House. The centre also includes a multi-purpose space, community lobby, and box office. The facility opened in 2015 and is a collaboration between the City of St. Catharines and Brock University.

Kraun’s construction team installed ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls) theatrical lighting in the three venues. The building was equipped with Lutron and Leviton lighting systems. We also finished four venues with Westbury National audio/visual equipment, electric retractable theatre seating, and JOEL Rigging theatrical rigging system.

Installation included:

  • Generator: 100kW 125 kVA, 600V, 3P diesel generator with two 200A automatic transfer switches
  • Lighting: three venues with ETC theatrical lighting, Lutron lighting system, Leviton lighting system, LED lighting throughout
  • Power Distribution: 1600A, 600V main service
  • Specialized Equipment: four venues with Westbury National audio/visual equipment, electric retractable theatre seating, JOEL Rigging theatrical rigging system
  • Access Control & CCTV
