Kwik Mix Materials

Kraun Electric completed the electrical installation for an industrial expansion at Kwik Mix Materials in Wainfleet, Ontario. The project supported several areas of the facility, including the main service and bagging area, dryer process area, silo building, and storage building.

A major part of the work involved upgrading the facility’s electrical service and distribution. Kraun installed a new outdoor substation, completed the related civil and high-voltage cabling work, and supplied the main switchboard needed to support the expanded operation.

The project also included new power feeds for existing and automated equipment, underground conduit rework, lighting upgrades, emergency lighting, exterior wall packs, and receptacles around the building. Kraun also provided power connections for equipment including a sealer pump and fuelling system pump.

Installation included:

  • Electrical work across the bagging area, dryer process area, silo building, and storage building
  • New 750 kVA, 27.6kV–347/600V outdoor substation
  • High-voltage cabling and civil work from the existing pole
  • 800A, 347/600V, 3-phase, 100%-rated main switchboard
  • New feeds to existing service and automation control equipment
  • Underground conduit rework and extension to the storage building
  • LED high bay lighting
  • Exterior wall packs, emergency lighting, and exterior receptacles
  • Power connections for production-related equipment
